Military: "Refusal to Investigate Suspect Raises Concerns of Evidence Tampering"
The military prosecution has requested an arrest warrant for former Marine Corps Investigation Unit Commander Colonel Park Jeong-hoon, who is accused of insubordination and other charges.
The Ministry of National Defense prosecution team announced on the 30th that it has filed a pre-arrest warrant request with the military court for Colonel Park, who is under investigation for insubordination and other charges.

They added, "We regret the suspect's repeated unilateral public statements," and "We expect the suspect to present necessary claims, such as expressing opinions on related evidence within the investigation process."

Earlier, Colonel Park was booked by the military prosecution on charges of insubordination under the Military Criminal Act for not following the Minister of National Defense's order to withhold and not transfer the investigation results related to Corporal Chaemo, who went missing during the heavy rains this summer and was swept away by a rapid current and died in the line of duty, to the police.
