Art and Romance Filled 'Autumn Gwangyang City Tour' Kicks Off

Weekdays and Sundays, Priority Operation of Pre-Booked Group Tour Courses

Gwangyang City in Jeollanam-do announced that starting from September, it will operate the Autumn Gwangyang City Tour, where visitors can enjoy the romance of autumn and immerse themselves in art and history.

The Autumn Gwangyang City Tour is operated with ▲ a subtly shining night view course ▲ a history course that captures the flowing history and spirit of Gwangyang ▲ and a group course that can be freely organized by groups of 15 or more.

The Gwangyang City Tour runs the night view course departing from Suncheon Station at 3 PM every Saturday, and on weekdays and Sundays, it operates the course with the highest priority reservation among the night view, history, and group courses.

The night view course boards at Suncheon Station (3 PM) and Gwangyang-eup Bus Terminal (3:30 PM), tours the Jeonnam Provincial Museum of Art, Gwangyang Art Warehouse, and Gubongsan Observatory, then enjoys dinner at the Yi Sun-sin Bridge Food Town.

Afterwards, the tour visits Baealdo Island Garden, the preserved house of Jeong Byeong-wook, who safeguarded the posthumous works of Yun Dong-ju, and concludes at Gwangyang-eup Bus Terminal (9 PM) and Suncheon Station (9:30 PM).

The history course boards at Suncheon Station (10:10 AM) and Gwangyang-eup Terminal (10:45 AM), explores the Jeonnam Provincial Museum of Art, Gwangyang Art Warehouse, Inseori Park, Gwangyang History and Culture Center, Gwangyang Jangdo Museum, and Gwangyang Gungsi Training Center, then passes through Gwangyang-eup Terminal (5:05 PM) and arrives at Suncheon Station (5:40 PM).

Additionally, the group course, available for groups of 15 or more, allows for a customized private tour that must include at least 4 tourist spots, 1 meal, and a schedule of 5 hours or more.

The night view course, which operates every Saturday, can be boarded without reservation, but other tours require a reservation of 5 or more people at least 3 days in advance. Groups must reserve at least 7 days in advance.

The usage fee is 5,000 KRW for general admission, 4,000 KRW for military personnel, seniors, and students, and 3,000 KRW for persons with disabilities and preschool children. Entrance fees, travel insurance, and meal costs are separate.

Jeong Gu-young, Director of Tourism, said, “The Autumn Gwangyang City Tour will operate the night view course every Saturday, allowing visitors to enjoy Gwangyang’s beautiful night scenery, and on other days, it will flexibly operate courses that meet tourists’ demands.”

He added, “We hope for much interest and participation in the Gwangyang City Tour, filled with autumn romance and art, including the landscape lighting softly coloring the Seomjin River and Baealdo, the Gubongsan Observatory where you can take in the jewel-like night view of Gwangyang Bay at a glance, and the Jeonnam Provincial Museum of Art hosting high-quality exhibitions.”

Meanwhile, the ‘Gwangyang City Tour Boarding Review Event,’ originally scheduled for August only, has been extended until October 31.

After using the Gwangyang City Tour, participants can upload their reviews on their personal SNS, capture the post, and apply on the ‘Event Application’ page of the Gwangyang City Culture and Tourism website to enter a draw for prizes such as AirPods Pro, department store gift certificates, and Gwangyang Love gift certificates.
