"I Also Debut as an Arranger with AI" Genie Music's Remake Project Contest
AI Arrangement Service 'GenieLira' - Music IP Platform MuFum
AI Remake Project Contest Held
Album Release, Special Mentoring, K-pop Artist Collaboration, and More
A remake project contest that allows anyone to participate as an arranger using AI is being held. Genie Music and AI startup Juice announced on the 30th that, together with the music IP platform Mufirm led by composer Kim Hyung-seok, they will host a new type of remake project contest open to everyone using AI.
The remake project contest, jointly hosted by the three companies, will run for one month. Not only music professionals but also the general public can participate. The total prize money for the contest is 20 million KRW. Winners of the Grand Prize (1 person) and Excellence Prize (2 people) will enjoy special benefits such as album release, special mentoring from top domestic producers, and opportunities to collaborate with K-POP artists.
Unlike traditional contests, the remake project contest utilizes AI as an assistant. Therefore, by using the AI arrangement service ‘Genie Rira,’ even non-professional composers can create their own remake songs and apply for the contest. Those wishing to participate can create remake songs in the form of an answer song to composer Kim Hyung-seok’s track ‘Nayeosseumyeon’ (sung by Na Yoon-kwon) or freely arrange ‘Areumdawoon Ibyeol’ (sung by Kim Gun-mo) and submit them to Mufirm and Genie Rira.
First, participants must upload the MP3 of ‘Nayeosseumyeon’ or ‘Areumdawoon Ibyeol’ to the Genie Rira service (rela.co.kr), arrange the AI-generated digital score into their own remake song, and save it on Genie Rira. Then, by registering the song on the music IP platform Mufirm (www.mufirm.com) and submitting an application form, they officially enter the contest.
For this contest, the music IP platform Mufirm provides the original IP of composer Kim Hyung-seok’s ‘Nayeosseumyeon’ and ‘Areumdawoon Ibyeol,’ along with collaboration and mentoring opportunities with K-POP artists. AI startup Juice supports wider access to AI arrangement technology through the Genie Rira service. Genie Music handles the distribution of the remake albums by the contest winners and promotes the albums via its AI music platform Genie.
