Yisang-il, Mayor of Yongin, "Hurry up with the road construction for Samga2 Private Rental"
More than Two and a Half Years After Completion, No Access Road Causes Move-in Delays
Site Visit Encourages Early Opening of Alternative Entrance
Lee Sang-il, Mayor of Yongin City, Gyeonggi Province, visited the site of the Samga 2 District private rental apartment complex, where residents' move-in has been delayed for over 2 years and 6 months due to the absence of access roads, on the 29th and ordered the prompt construction of alternative roads.

At the site, Mayor Lee urged city officials and project implementers, saying, "Since a solution has been found, please expedite the road construction for the prospective residents," and added, "Please carefully inspect and improve the living conditions in advance to ensure residents' satisfaction after they move in."
The Samga 2 District apartments are corporate rental apartments (New Stay) built by the private sector with support from the Housing and Urban Fund. Located in Samga-dong 447-15, Cheoin-gu, Yongin City, the complex consists of 1,950 households and was completed in February 2021.
However, the Yeoksam Urban Development Project, which includes the access roads to the complex, has been delayed due to internal issues, postponing the approval for use and move-in plans for the Samga 2 District apartments. Although the buildings are completed, there has been no road access for over 2 years and 6 months, leaving the apartments vacant.
To resolve the issue, Mayor Lee devised a plan to construct alternative roads within the adjacent Yeokbuk 2 Neighborhood Park and sought solutions by directly meeting with directors of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission.
As a result, in May, the city signed an adjustment agreement with the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission and the project implementers reflecting the alternative road plan. In June, the project implementers and Yongin Urban Corporation signed a consignment agreement for the ‘Samga 2 District Rental Housing Alternative Road Construction and Yeokbuk 2 Neighborhood Park Development’ project.
According to the agreement, the project implementers will bear the costs of road construction and park land, while Yongin Urban Corporation and the city will carry out the construction. The city plans to expedite the road construction and complete it by November next year.
