[2024 Early Admission Special] Sookmyung Women's University Establishes Sookmyung Digital Convergence Talent Track for Recruiting Freshmen in Advanced Departments
516 Students Selected Through Student Record Comprehensive Screening, 252 Through Student Record Curriculum Screening
Sookmyung Women's University will select 516 students through the 2024 academic year early admission comprehensive student record screening and 252 students through the student record curriculum screening. Starting this year, the Sookmyung Digital Convergence Talent Screening has been newly established along with advanced departments.
The representative early admission comprehensive screening methods are the Sookmyung Talent Interview Type and Document Type. The Interview Type selects students for the humanities and the College of Pharmacy. The first stage is based 100% on documents, and the second stage reflects 60% of the first stage score and 40% of the interview score. From the 2024 academic year, the number of recruits for the Interview Type has been expanded, changing the first stage selection multiplier from 4 times to 3 times.
The Document Type selects students for the College of Pharmacy and natural science departments (Department of Artificial Intelligence Engineering, Major in Intelligent Electronic Systems, Major in New Materials Physics, Major in Computer Science, Major in Data Science). From the 2024 academic year, an advanced department has been established, creating the Sookmyung Digital Convergence Talent Screening under the comprehensive student record screening. This screening selects students 100% based on documents, the same as the comprehensive document type screening. Multiple applications across comprehensive screening types at Sookmyung Women's University are also allowed.
The evaluation criteria for document assessment in Sookmyung Women's University comprehensive student record screening are ▲career competency ▲inquiry competency ▲community consciousness and collaboration ability. The interview evaluation focuses on ▲major suitability and thinking ability ▲communication skills and character.
The student record curriculum screening (regional balanced selection screening) selects 252 students. From the 2024 academic year, the recommendation limit has been removed, allowing applications solely with the high school principal's recommendation.
The screening method uses a converted rank grade weighted average of the rank grades of the reflected subjects in the student record. In line with the purpose of the integrated curriculum for humanities and sciences, since last year, the grades for Korean, English, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science subjects are all reflected regardless of whether the department is humanities or natural sciences. Additionally, the achievement levels of the top three career elective subjects are reflected.
