Chiang Wan-an, the mayor of Taipei and great-grandson of Chiang Kai-shek, the President of Taiwan, visited Shanghai, China, according to Taiwan's United Daily News on the 29th.

Before his visit to China, Mayor Chiang met with reporters at Taiwan's Songshan Airport and stated, "Currently, cross-strait relations are certainly not peaceful, but this is not what the Taiwanese people who desire peace and prosperity want to see," emphasizing, "There must be continuous dialogue mechanisms and sincerity to stabilize cross-strait exchanges and to stabilize cross-strait interactions amid complexities."
