Intensive Safety Blind Spot Inspections at 15 Airports Nationwide Starting from the 29th
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced that from the 29th to September 22nd, it will conduct intensive inspections on vulnerable areas of airport facilities at 15 airports nationwide to ensure the safety of airport users.
This measure reflects the recent allowance of group tours from China and the upcoming Chuseok holiday in September, which are expected to lead to a continuous increase in airport users in the second half of the year, as well as the diversification of accident types in multi-use facilities.
The Ministry plans to focus inspections on accessories directly related to airport user safety (such as finishing materials and installed artworks), frequently used equipment (such as moving walkways and automatic doors), and small-scale vulnerable facilities (such as temporary structures and auxiliary buildings).
The inspection targets 4,182 facilities located at 15 airports nationwide. The Ministry plans to check blind spots that were difficult to verify through previous inspections, such as the attachment and fixation status of accessories within airports.
