On the 28th, the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office stated, "Regarding the bribery case involving remittances to North Korea, considering the investigation and trial schedule, we requested Lee's side to appear on the 30th with a one-week notice on the 23rd. However, despite the National Assembly being in recess, they refused to appear and unilaterally notified us that they would appear sometime between September 11 and 15." They added, "Accordingly, the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office today (28th) through Lee's lawyer, once again requested his appearance on September 4th both by phone and in writing."
