Six Candidates for the 9th President of Changwon National University Share Their Aspirations at the Debate
Online Voting to Be Held on August 30
The 2nd debate for the 9th president appointment candidates of Changwon National University was held on the afternoon of the 28th at CWNU Gaon Hall, Changwon National University.
The candidates for the president of Changwon National University, in order of their numbers, are ▲ Song Sin-geun, Professor of Accounting ▲ Choi Hee-gyu, Professor of Mechatronics Convergence Engineering ▲ Park Min-won, Professor of Electrical and Electronic Control Engineering ▲ Yoon Hyun-kyu, Professor of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering ▲ Ryu Byung-kwan, Professor of Law ▲ Park Kyung-hoon, Professor of Smart Green Engineering, totaling six candidates.
During the debate, they presented their main pledges, engaged in mutual discussions on the pledges, and answered individual questions. They also randomly selected and answered two pre-prepared questionnaires.

On that day, candidate Park Min-won said, "This election is not for the president but for the future of Changwon National University," adding, "I ran because I love the school so much, and I hope all candidates, regardless of the election outcome, will come together as colleagues to share a glass of Makgeolli and continue their love for the school."
Candidate Choi Hee-gyu expressed his ambition, saying, "Just as small knots come together to make a strong rope, I will gather everyone's hearts to build a powerful Changwon National University," and added, "I will open a new history, create a university that everyone visits, and become a president who goes anywhere."
Candidate Yoon Hyun-kyu appealed, "Through 11 years of research institute experience and 11 years of university experience, I realized the value of autonomy and cooperation, and the necessity of communication and chemistry," and asked for support as a home run hitter who will quietly advance based on freedom and cooperation to create four years where progress can be felt at some point.
Candidate Song Sin-geun declared, "I challenged again to make Changwon National University the new representative university of Gyeongnam," and stated, "Glocal university, IT system projects, university integration, medical school?none of these are easy, but I will achieve them together with the school members by filling in the gaps."
Candidate Park Kyung-hoon said, "With the passion and love for the standard of life I had while creating each university development plan and task, I will make Changwon National University respected by the nation and the world even 50 years from now," and added, "As an educator and a key figure in research and industry-academia cooperation, I will create a campus full of future hope, pride, and self-esteem."
Candidate Ryu Byung-kwan stated, "I will be a president who serves and attends to each member," and said, "I will build a happy university where all members are respected, everyone wants to be part of the campus, and even after leaving the campus, they want to come back."

The voting for the 9th president appointment candidates of Changwon National University will be held on the 30th.
About 9,200 people, including undergraduate and graduate students (excluding those on leave), professors, faculty, staff, and teaching assistants, will each cast one vote via smartphone or computer.
The first round of voting will take place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the voting day, and if no candidate receives more than half of the votes in the first round, a second round will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. to select the final two candidates.
If no candidate obtains a majority, a runoff vote will be conducted between the two candidates with the most votes, and the ranking will be determined based on the number of votes.
The top two candidates decided will be reported to the Ministry of Education, and the president will be appointed by the President of the Republic upon recommendation by the Minister of Education.

The current president, Lee Ho-young, will serve until October 24, and the presidential term is four years.
