The LG-KOICA Hope Vocational Training School was established in 2014 through cooperation between LG, KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency), and the Ethiopian government as a token of gratitude for participation in the Korean War. This year marks its 10th anniversary. LG Electronics provides free technical education in the fields of electrical and electronics, and IT to support the self-reliance of Ethiopian youth through the school.
As of last year, the cumulative number of graduates is about 400, with an employment and entrepreneurship rate of 100%. All graduates have successfully entered society by finding jobs at various IT companies as well as LG Electronics or starting their own businesses using the skills they acquired. This year, 63 students graduated.
