“Taser Gun, Should I Shoot?” … Soldier Who Posted Terror Threat Against Busan Mayor Arrested
An active-duty soldier who posted a threat to attack the Mayor of Busan on an online community was apprehended by the police.
The Busan Metropolitan Police Agency announced that the Cyber Investigation Team of Bucheon Wonmi Police Station under the Gyeonggi Southern Police Agency arrested a man in his 20s, identified as Mr. A, who posted a threat to attack the Mayor of Busan on a community site, on the morning of the 26th in Busan.
On the 23rd at around 3:51 PM, Mr. A posted on the online community DC Inside’s bulletin board, “Should I just shoot that Busan Mayor or whoever it is with a taser gun?”
Upon receiving the report, the police deployed about 50 officers, including six patrol cars, detectives, and riot police, and strengthened checkpoints and searches around City Hall.
The police identified the author through IP address tracking and other methods, and arrested Mr. A at his home in Busan on charges including obstruction of official duties by threats and deception.
