Presidential Office and Others Positively Reviewing... Cabinet Meeting Approval Expected
The government is considering designating October 2, the holiday between the Chuseok holiday and National Foundation Day, as a temporary public holiday. If this day is designated as a temporary public holiday, there will be a total of six consecutive holidays including Chuseok and National Foundation Day.
According to political circles on the 25th, the Presidential Office recently received a proposal from the People Power Party to designate October 2 as a temporary public holiday. It is known that the Presidential Office and the Ministry of Personnel Management are positively reviewing the proposal.
The People Power Party is reported to have proposed the first temporary public holiday since President Yoon Seok-yeol took office, based on political considerations such as revitalizing the economy. If the designation of the temporary public holiday is finally decided after discussions between the party and the government, it is expected to be submitted as an agenda item at the Cabinet meeting presided over by President Yoon for deliberation and resolution.
