During a meeting with Nam Seong-hyun, the head of the Korea Forest Service, that afternoon, Governor Kim proposed support for the establishment of the National Cheongwansan Forest Healing Center and the National Cheongwansan Mountaineering School.
In this regard, Jangheung County signed a business agreement with Jeollanam-do on the 1st and agreed to promote the Cheongwansan HUG Belt development project.
The Cheongwansan Forest Healing Center project involves a total investment of 30 billion KRW and includes the installation of facilities such as a forest experience and education center, forest recreation hall, and healing center.
The county plans to activate forest welfare by linking county-owned land and national forests, creating a place for public mental and physical healing and leisure activities. The Cheongwansan Mountaineering School is an institution specializing in mountaineering and trekking education.
Jangheung County plans to invest 8 billion KRW to build sports climbing facilities, lecture rooms, and dormitories, aiming to lead a healthy and safe mountaineering culture.
Cheongwansan has large-scale national forests under the jurisdiction of the Korea Forest Service and is considered to have excellent conditions for the mountaineering school location due to its suitability for tourism linked to the southern region.
At the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, requests were made for the development of a rural convergence leisure valley and support for forage processing and distribution facilities. The rural convergence leisure valley is planned to be developed on 244 hectares of reclaimed land in Samsan-ri and Sindong-ri, Gwansan-eup.
This area will include a smart farm complex, production, processing, storage, and distribution facility complexes, and agricultural and fishery experience zones through the participation rate of private investment corporations.
