Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) announced on the 22nd that MOLIT and the Hyundai Construction Consortium signed the GTX-C implementation agreement.
The GTX-C line project has been actively progressing since the MOLIT Minister visited Dobong-gu last May, announcing the full underground construction throughout Dobong-gu, promising construction within the year, and completion by 2028.
MOLIT and the Hyundai Construction Consortium recently held a resident briefing session on the environmental impact assessment to explain the project to residents and gather their opinions. They have also proceeded with detailed procedures such as traffic impact assessment and environmental impact assessment, and consulted with each local government to finalize the design of GTX-C.
Although the implementation agreement was delayed due to issues surrounding Changdong Station and Eunma Apartment, which had been controversial, MOLIT and the Hyundai Construction Consortium signed the GTX-C implementation agreement on the 22nd, agreeing to faithfully fulfill the project conditions of the GTX-C line and successfully proceed with the project, including construction within the year.
Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, “I am pleased that the full underground construction of GTX-C throughout Dobong-gu, a long-standing local demand project, has been confirmed and that positive news about GTX-C will be heard soon,” adding, “We will not stop at the introduction of GTX-C but will closely cooperate with related organizations to introduce the Suseo-origin SRT Changdong Station in the future so that residents of Dobong-gu can use both GTX and SRT.”

MOLIT and the Hyundai Construction Consortium plan to conduct the design VE review in September and finalize the design plan within the year, aiming to start construction of GTX-C within the year and complete it by 2028.
