'September Reading Month'... 1,144 Events Held at 31 City and County Libraries in Gyeonggi-do
Gyeonggi Province will hold 1,144 diverse cultural events including lectures, book talks, performances, experiences, exhibitions, and discussions at libraries in 31 cities and counties across the province in September, the "Month of Reading."
First, the largest nationwide book culture festival, "2023 Korea Reading Festival Goyang," hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and sponsored by Gyeonggi Province, will take place from September 1 to 3 around Hosu Park in Goyang City. This event will feature lectures and book talks by author Kim Young-ha and comedian Kim Young-chul, as well as performances, a book market, and exhibitions.
Major reading events in September include ▲ Author Choi Jae-chun's book concert and picture book reading play "Horaengddeokjip" (Suwon) ▲ Yongin Book Festival (Yongin) ▲ Children's puppet show "The Wizard of Oz" (Hwaseong) ▲ "Recording 50 Years of Bucheon" (Bucheon) ▲ Library busking and Book & Classic (Namyangju) ▲ "Forest Encountered Through Imagination" (Pyeongtaek) ▲ Author Bong Tae-gyu's book talk "Because I Want to Be a Decent Adult" (Paju) ▲ Meeting with author Park Jun "Nothing Changes Just Because You Read" (Hanam) ▲ Special lecture by Um Hong-gil "Indomitable Spirit of Challenge" (Gwangmyeong) ▲ Book talk by authors Jung Se-rang and Kim Gyeo-ul "Treasures Found in Books" (Yangju) ▲ Fusion puppet show "The Bremen Town Musicians" (Guri) ▲ Book concert "Meeting with author Kang Won-guk" (Yangpyeong) ▲ Jazz concert welcoming autumn (Yeoju), among others.
