On the 23rd, LG Chem announced that it will hold the "2nd Global Innovation Challenge (GIC)" to proactively secure future eco-friendly innovative technologies and quickly apply them to its business.
Any startups and research groups worldwide that can propose innovative technology ideas are eligible to participate, and applications can be submitted through the official contest website from the 23rd of this month until October 20th.
This contest seeks ideas in the fields of ▲recycled materials (Circular & Recycle), such as chemical and mechanical recycling to establish a plastic circular economy ▲sustainable materials (Sustainable Materials), including eco-friendly plastics, carbon conversion processes, and bio-based raw materials for environmental protection ▲functional materials (Functional Materials), such as high-performance plastic additives and 3D printing materials tailored to customer and market needs.
LG Chem plans to provide the final selected teams with opportunities for joint research, including technology exchange and dispatching researchers. Furthermore, after reviewing the technology maturity and alignment, various cooperation models such as equity investment will also be discussed.
Starting this year, LG Chem will strengthen its open innovation activities by operating a "Sustainable Partnership" channel on the contest website, allowing continuous submission of eco-friendly innovative ideas.
