What’s the Secret Behind Jungnang-gu’s Rise in Unmet Medical Needs Rate in Seoul from 24th to 2nd?
Jungnang District Ranks 2nd in Seoul for Unmet Medical Needs Rate
Unmet medical needs rate refers to the number of people who wanted to visit a hospital or clinic (excluding dental clinics) in the past year but were unable to do so.
According to the 2022 Community Health Survey results, Jungnang-gu's unmet medical needs rate ranks 2nd in Seoul... The rate significantly decreased from 7.6% in 2019 to 1.4% in 2022.
It has been revealed that the unmet medical needs rate in Jungnang-gu (District Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi) has greatly improved. According to the 2022 Community Health Survey released in February this year, the annual unmet medical needs rate in Jungnang-gu is 1.4%, ranking 2nd among all districts in Seoul.
The unmet medical needs rate quantifies the number of respondents who reported that they wanted to visit a hospital or clinic (excluding dental clinics) in the past year but could not. A lower rate indicates a higher number of medical institutions and easier access, meaning residents can visit medical facilities whenever they want without barriers.
The district's unmet medical needs rate decreased from 7.6% in 2019 to 1.4% in 2022. This represents significant growth, rising from 24th place to 2nd place in Seoul.
Ryu Gyeong-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, stated, "We will establish a close cooperative system with medical institutions and continuously manage it to ensure that residents do not miss out on necessary medical services due to a lack of medical facilities."
