Busan City and the 2030 Busan World Expo Citizens' Committee will hold the '2030 Busan World Expo Hosting Support Donation Ceremony' at 3 p.m. on the 22nd in the City Hall Protocol Room.
This ceremony was arranged to deliver a donation of 100 million KRW prepared by the local company Korea Cast Iron Pipe Industry (CEO Kim Tae-hyung) to support the hosting of the 2030 Busan World Expo.
Busan Mayor Park Hyung-joon and Korea Cast Iron Pipe Industry CEO Kim Tae-hyung are expected to attend the ceremony.
Mayor Park Hyung-joon will personally receive the donation on behalf of the city and express his gratitude to the company representatives and officials who participated in the donation.
The entire donation from Korea Cast Iron Pipe Industry will be handed over to the Citizens' Committee and will be primarily used for negotiations and promotional activities targeting member countries of the International Bureau of Expositions (BIE) during the remaining three months until the decision on the host city for the 2030 World Expo in November.
Mayor Park Hyung-joon stated, "With less than 100 days remaining until the selection of the 2030 World Expo host city, the Republic of Korea is united and fully committed to securing the hosting rights for Busan." He added, "We sincerely thank Korea Cast Iron Pipe Industry, a local company, for their valuable donation during this critical time, and we will do our best in the remaining period to achieve the precious result of successful hosting."
This year, the city successfully completed the on-site inspection by the International Bureau of Expositions and the fourth competitive presentation for the 2030 World Expo bid, demonstrating its outstanding hosting capabilities externally.
