Hapcheon-gun Begins Eulji Exercise to Protect Citizens' Lives and Property...
Hapcheon County in Gyeongnam Province began the '2023 Eulji Exercise' on the 21st with an emergency assembly of public officials and will continue for 3 nights and 4 days until the 24th.
The Eulji Exercise is an emergency preparedness drill conducted to strengthen national security posture and protect the lives and property of citizens in national emergency situations.
The county plans to conduct tabletop exercises to improve response capabilities to North Korean provocations and select key and comprehensive wartime issues in the region for discussion with related organizations to find solutions.
Additionally, a nationwide civil defense drill for air raid preparedness, which has not been conducted for six years since 2018, is scheduled to take place on the 23rd at 2 p.m. for 20 minutes. At 4 p.m., an actual drill responding to a bomb terror attack at Hapcheon Dam will be conducted with the participation of over 200 personnel from nine organizations and groups including civilian, government, military, police, and fire departments.
