Gwangju Seo-gu 'Visiting Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Education' Receives Positive Response
Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kim Ikang) is receiving great responses with its visiting cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) education program, ‘Dongnebangne 119’.
On the 21st, Seo-gu announced that it is conducting easy-to-understand theory and practice-oriented education so that residents can protect the lives of their families and neighbors through prompt emergency treatment in case of various safety and disaster accidents.
In particular, the ‘Together Connected, Safe Village Hwajeong 1-dong’ village BI is linked to the ‘CPR and Emergency Treatment Permanent Education Center’ regularly operated at Hwajeong 1-dong Cathedral Culture Center, playing a significant role in spreading safety awareness among residents.
CPR is an emergency treatment that artificially circulates blood and assists breathing when the heart and lung activities stop. Instructors from the Korea Emergency Treatment Education Center directly educate public officials, members of local self-governing organizations, sports clubs, office workers, and local residents.
Seo-gu plans to continue the visiting CPR education schedule until the end of this year.
Residents, organizations, and institutions in Seo-gu who wish to participate in ‘Dongnebangne 119’ can inquire at the Health Administration Division of Seo-gu Public Health Center.
A Seo-gu official said, “Recently, social awareness that anyone can encounter a cardiac arrest patient has been spreading, leading to an increase in education requests from various institutions,” adding, “We will do our best to expand CPR education and safety awareness so that residents can respond to emergencies anytime and anywhere.”
