20s Man Arrested for Writing Article Predicting Knife Fight at Pro Baseball Game
A man in his 20s who posted a stabbing threat in the comment section of the Hanwha Eagles YouTube channel was urgently arrested.
On the 20th, the Cyber Crime Investigation Unit of the Daejeon Police Agency announced that they had apprehended A (23) on charges of intimidation.
A is accused of posting the message, "Next game, I will come to stab. I will kill everyone," in the live comment section of the Hanwha Eagles TV YouTube channel at around 1:57 a.m. that day.
Following a citizen's report, the police requested international cooperation from the United States and, through tracking investigations, urgently arrested A at his residence in Ilsan, Gyeonggi Province, at around 12:58 p.m. that day.
A reportedly stated that he had bet on the Hanwha Eagles to win the game against the KT Wiz on the 19th on a sports toto site, but wrote the threatening message out of frustration after the Eagles lost the game.
It appears that A did not have any particular grudge against Hanwha Eagles players or fans.
