"Wanted Attention"... 30-Year-Old Man Arrested and Sentenced for False Murder Threat
A man in his 30s who falsely reported to 112 that he would kill someone at Cheongnyangni Station in Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, was handed over to the prosecution in custody.
On the 18th, the Dongdaemun Police Station in Seoul announced that they had sent Mr. A, a man in his 30s, to the Seoul Northern District Prosecutors' Office in custody on charges of obstruction of official duties by deception.
Mr. A is suspected of making a false report to 112 at around 9:10 p.m. on the 8th, saying he would harm people with a weapon. After searching the area around Cheongnyangni Station, the police arrested Mr. A at Gyeongdong Market. It was confirmed that Mr. A did not have any weapon that could be used for the crime at the time of arrest.
