IBK, 600 Million KRW Support for Families of SME Workers with Rare and Severe Diseases
IBK Industrial Bank announced on the 18th that it has provided 630 million KRW in medical expenses to 124 families of small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) workers suffering from rare and intractable diseases and severe illnesses.
Through this support, the spouse of Mr. A, who is battling salivary gland cancer, and the spouse of Mr. B, who is bearing high medical costs due to a sudden cerebral hemorrhage, received assistance.
Meanwhile, to improve the welfare of SME workers, IBK established the IBK Happiness Sharing Foundation in 2006 and has contributed 71.5 billion KRW in funds to date. Through this, it has supported medical expenses of 14.9 billion KRW for about 3,400 families of workers battling rare and intractable diseases and severe illnesses, and donated 20 billion KRW in scholarships to about 11,200 children of SME workers.
