DGIST, President Recruitment Re-announced... 3 Candidates Fail to Secure Board Majority
DGIST is recruiting candidates for the 5th president through a re-announcement from the 18th to September 7th.
Once presidential candidates apply, DGIST's Presidential Candidate Recommendation Committee will conduct related evaluations to select multiple candidates and recommend them to the board of directors. The board will then finalize the appointment of one president by a majority vote of the directors present. The appointed president will be officially appointed after the consent of the Minister of Education and the approval of the Minister of Science and ICT.

Last month on the 7th, DGIST held a board meeting with three candidates who applied for the presidency: Professor Kim Heungnam of KAIST, former KAIST Vice President Park Ook, and UNIST Vice President Lee Jaeyong. However, as no candidate received a majority vote, DGIST proceeded with a re-recruitment for the president. DGIST President Guk Yang's term ended on March 31st.
