Damyang-gun Intensifies Control of Outbreak Pests Including American White Moth
Damyang-gun is making every effort to carry out pest control work to minimize damage caused by sudden pest outbreaks in roadside trees, parks, forests, and major tourist sites.
According to the county on the 17th, due to the recent continuous hot and humid weather, sudden pests such as the fall webworm and mites have rapidly increased and spread, and damage from the fall webworm is occurring on trees in living areas such as roadside trees.
The fall webworm eats all the leaves of deciduous trees such as persimmon and cherry trees, leaving only bare branches, which not only damages the landscape but also makes the trees vulnerable to other diseases and pests due to reduced photosynthesis.
In addition, exposure to humans can cause skin diseases or keratitis, so prompt pest control is necessary.
Accordingly, Damyang-gun has been conducting pest control work by deploying its own pest control team centered on the Forest Pest Control Headquarters from the 14th to the 31st of this month.
