Jung Yu-mi and Lee Sun-kyun's 'Sleep' Invited to Fantastic Fest Following Cannes
The film "Sleep," starring actors Jung Yu-mi and Lee Sun-kyun, is receiving consecutive love calls from overseas film festivals.
According to Lotte Entertainment on the 17th, "Sleep" (directed by Yoo Jae-sun) has been invited to the 18th Fantastic Fest, held in Austin, North America, from the 21st to the 28th of next month.
Fantastic Fest is the largest genre film festival in the United States, covering horror, fantasy, sci-fi, and action. Korean films such as "Decision to Leave," "Hunt," and "Wolf Hunting" (2022) have been invited in the past.
Festival programmer Anik Marnet described "Sleep" as "a thrilling film about the horror latent in sleepwalking."

Opening on September 6, "Sleep" tells the story of a happy newlywed couple, Hyun-soo and Su-jin, who are overwhelmed by Hyun-soo's abnormal behavior during sleep, like a nightmare, and their struggle to uncover the terrible secret that begins the moment he falls asleep. The film was invited to the Critics' Week at this year's Cannes Film Festival, the 56th Sitges Fantastic Film Festival, and the 48th Toronto International Film Festival.
