Seoul Volunteer Center Conducts 'Disaster Response Volunteer Experience Training'
Information Gathering, Disaster Relief, and On-site Operations
The Seoul Volunteer Center announced on the 17th that over 300 Seoul citizens, including Baro Volunteer Group members, disaster response partner organizations (groups), and volunteer centers, will participate in the ‘Disaster Response Volunteer Experience Training’ in the Seoul area at the Baekbeom Kim Gu Memorial Hall.
This experience training is a practical exercise designed to perform roles in various fields such as initial site assessment, site recovery and support for disaster victims, supply/resource/equipment support, specialized technical support, daily life recovery, and psychological support by simulating disaster situations to enhance on-site response capabilities in the event of a disaster in the Seoul area.
The main contents of the experience training include ▲ proper initial information collection at disaster sites, ▲ relief and support for disaster victims, ▲ operation of volunteer activities at disaster sites, ▲ mobility support for disabled persons at disaster sites, and ▲ psychological first aid.
The Seoul Volunteer Center jointly planned·operated specialized programs by field with five partner organizations experienced in disaster site activities to prepare for heavy rain damage for this experience training.
Song Chang-hoon, Director of the Seoul Volunteer Center, said, “I hope that the Baro Volunteer Group members participating in this experience training will be able to respond efficiently to disaster situations and perform their roles well.”

Meanwhile, the ‘Baro Volunteer Group’ is a disaster response specialized volunteer group formed in 2022 to quickly restore disaster sites and support the smooth recovery of daily life for local residents. As of 2023, it includes 82 partner organizations and 915 volunteers.
