Police Raid LH Headquarters... Full-Scale Investigation into Rebar Omission Begins
Gwangju police conducted a search and seizure at the headquarters of Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) in connection with the so-called 'Sunsal Apartment' case.
On the morning of the 16th, the Gwangju Metropolitan Police Agency executed search warrants at four locations, including the LH headquarters (Jinju, Gyeongnam), the Gwangju and Jeonnam branch offices, a design company, and a structural safety inspection service company.
Sixteen investigators were dispatched to find evidence for the investigation of the rebar omission in the LH-commissioned apartments in Seonun 2 District, Gwangju Metropolitan City.
The underground parking lot of these apartments features a mixed structure of reinforced concrete frame (ramen) and flat slab structures, and it was found that some parts of the flat slab structure were missing rebar.

Earlier, on the 4th, LH requested the police to investigate companies and employees related to the design, construction, and supervision of 15 apartment complexes where poor construction of the flat slab structure was confirmed.
