Namhae-gun German Village Beer Festival Selects 6 Representative Souvenirs Including Craft Beer and Block Goods
Namhae-gun, Gyeongnam, has finalized the selection of six representative souvenirs for the German Village Beer Festival through a contest.
In the first-ever contest held since the inception of the German Village Beer Festival, the grand prize was awarded to the craft beer "Namhae Yuja Ale" produced by "Wanjeokhan Insaeng" (Perfect Life).
Namhae Yuja Ale received high marks for embodying the signature symbolism and popularity of the beer festival, while incorporating the yuja (citron) scent, a specialty product of Namhae. Another craft beer by Wanjeokhan Insaeng, "Gwangbu-ui Norae" (Miner's Song), was previously awarded the grand prize at the 23rd Gyeongnam Tourism Souvenir Contest in 2020.
The excellence awards went to DNA People's block goods and Namhae Yuja Atelier's beer cup candle set. The block goods were praised for diversifying souvenirs by combining the festival theme with blocks, and were expected to be popular among young children.
The candle set, consisting of two beer cup-shaped candles with a subtle Namhae yuja fragrance, is anticipated to appeal to young women.
The encouragement awards included two types of "Modu-ui Goods" magnets, which depict Namhae German Village, beer, and the parade wagon, the highlight event of the beer festival, representing the festival's characteristics. The doll "Dogiri" by "Dogiljip" (German House) is a wooden doll symbolizing a German little soldier. It is already quite famous among enthusiasts and is characterized by freely movable head and limbs, allowing for various poses.
Ooro's beer glass features an antibacterial hologram coating that emits an aurora-like glow, adding a touch of luxury, and incorporates the festival's own BI (Brand Identity) representing the Namhae German Village Beer Festival on both the glass and packaging design.
The submission period for this contest was from May 4 to July 24. Various types of works such as decorations, candles, bread, cups, T-shirts, and hats were submitted not only from Namhae-gun but also from all over the country. The judging took place on the 11th at the Namhae Exile Literature Museum.
