Daesang Cheongjeongwon Launches 'Haengbok Noliteo Animal Welfare Yujeong Eggs'

Certified as a 'Clean Livestock Farm' by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs
Daesang Cheongjeongwon announced on the 16th that it will launch the ‘Haengbok Noliteo Animal Welfare Fertile Eggs,’ the first in Korea to apply the garden radial rearing method. Following the two types of animal welfare eggs introduced last year, this new product expands the animal welfare egg lineup while accelerating ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management.
The garden radial rearing method uses a henhouse design that allows chickens to roam freely, enabling natural behaviors such as pecking the ground and dust bathing, which minimizes stress for the chickens. Daesang’s garden-style henhouse has recently completed patent registration.
Animal welfare eggs are produced in rearing environments certified by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs that minimize unnecessary pain or stress. Strict and rigorous standards are applied not only during the rearing process but also throughout transportation. In particular, since the European Union (EU) legally banned battery cage rearing in 2012, ethical livestock consumption trends have spread worldwide, increasing interest in animal welfare. Daesang expects domestic demand for animal welfare certified products to continue rising and thus introduced this new product.
The new product, ‘Haengbok Noliteo Animal Welfare Fertile Eggs,’ provides a comfortable and safe environment through Daesang’s differentiated specification management method. It has received the ‘Clean Livestock Farm (CLF)’ certification designated by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, and manages harmful factors such as antibiotics, pesticides, and food poisoning bacteria more strictly than legal standards. Notably, no artificial drugs such as antibiotics, hormones, or growth promoters are used, and patented feed containing fermented chlorella and astaxanthin is provided to carefully maintain the chickens’ health.
A YouTube advertising campaign commemorating the product launch is also underway. Actor Jung Sung-il was selected as the advertising model, and the concept of townhouse sales advertisements was adopted to emphasize the healthy rearing environment, including the garden-style henhouse patented by Daesang.
