South Korea, US, and Japan Foreign Ministers Hold Video Conference to Review Trilateral Summit Agenda
Discussion on Countermeasures Against North Korean Nuclear and Missile Threats
Coordination Expected on Non-Military Cooperation Measures
On the 15th, the foreign ministers of South Korea, the United States, and Japan held a video conference to discuss the trilateral summit scheduled for the 18th (local time) at Camp David in the United States.
Park Jin, South Korea's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tony Blinken, U.S. Secretary of State, and Yoshimasa Hayashi, Japan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, held the video conference in the afternoon to finalize the agenda for the South Korea-U.S.-Japan summit.
They are also believed to have exchanged views on the outcome document to be issued at the summit.
The three countries are reported by foreign media to plan to announce the so-called "Camp David Principles," which will govern trilateral relations, along with a joint statement at this summit.
The three foreign ministers likely exchanged opinions on deepening security cooperation to respond to North Korea's nuclear and missile threats, including the regularization of trilateral military exercises and real-time sharing of North Korean missile warning information, which will be addressed at the summit.
