HanmiGlobal Reports Record First Half Sales of 205.6 Billion KRW Driven by Strong Global Business Performance
HanmiGlobal announced on the 14th that it recorded sales of 205.6 billion KRW and operating profit of 13.7 billion KRW in the first half of this year based on consolidated financial statements. This represents an increase of 25.6% and 21.5%, respectively, compared to the same period last year, with sales marking the highest performance ever for the first half of a year.
HanmiGlobal explained that the expansion of global business and increased sales from group companies amid the domestic construction market downturn contributed to the strong performance.
Domestically, stable sales were generated from high-tech sectors such as the Samsung Electronics Pyeongtaek semiconductor plant production lines P3L and P4L, and construction project management (PM) for the new Samsung Display Yongin Giheung Campus. In the global business sector, overseas subsidiaries’ sales increased by about 56% compared to last year, contributing to improved results.
In particular, following last year, the company continued to secure projects related to NEOM City in Saudi Arabia this year as well. It signed contracts for monitoring services of the NEOM City construction workers’ accommodation complex project, with 20,000 units in the first quarter and 10,000 units in the second quarter. Additionally, it is performing major project PM for the SeAH Wind monopile production plant in the UK, KT&G’s tobacco factory in Indonesia, and Star Lake in Hanoi, Vietnam.
HanmiGlobal’s U.S. regional group company OTAK also contributed to the performance increase by recording sales of 49.6 billion KRW, up 8.4% compared to the same period last year. The U.S. is the largest overseas market, accounting for one-quarter of HanmiGlobal’s total sales. Following the establishment of the U.S. corporation last year, the company appointed former Hyundai Construction Vice President Kim Yong-sik as President of North American Business this month, focusing on market expansion. In the first half, it secured projects such as LG Chem’s North American cathode material plant and SK Hynix’s San Jose global campus renovation.
The performance growth of group companies is also notable. HanmiGlobal ENC’s sales in the first half of this year increased by 625.4% year-on-year to 17.9 billion KRW. HanmiGlobal PMC, which operates comprehensive supervision services, recorded sales of 3.8 billion KRW, up 159.9% during the same period.
HanmiGlobal expects results from real estate development projects in the second half. Subsidiary HanmiGlobal D&I is responsible for the implementation of the “Cheonho Station Maestro” apartment subscription, and HanmiGlobal’s first urban senior housing, “Wirye Symphonia,” is scheduled to recruit residents.
