Presidential Office: "Fake News Regarding Corporal Chae's Death Is Immoral"
The Presidential Office stated that the suspicion of its involvement in the investigation of the death of Marine Corps Corporal Chae Su-geun is "an immoral act of making circumstances and speculations and creating fake news."
A senior official of the Presidential Office said on the 13th, "I believe there was no situation where the National Security Office altered anything to disrupt the (investigation) procedure."
He added, "I personally heard that in the past, there was a similar related department with the same name in the organization, based on what was reported in the media," but denied, "I myself have no knowledge of encountering (this case) in such circumstances or processes."

The Democratic Party of Korea reportedly intends to investigate the truth through the National Assembly's standing committees, claiming that the Presidential Office intervened in the investigation of Corporal Chae and attempted to conceal the facts.
