Cosmax Starts Operation of Cosmetics Production Plant with China's Yisen Group
"Producing 400 Million Products Annually... Asia's Largest Scale"
Cosmax, a cosmetics manufacturer and original design manufacturer (ODM), announced on the 13th that it has built a cosmetics production factory in Guangzhou City in partnership with China's Yatsen Group and has begun full-scale operations.
The 'Yatsen Bioscience Co., Ltd.' factory built in Guangzhou covers an area of 60,593㎡, making it the largest single cosmetics factory in Asia.
Cosmax established a joint venture (JV) with Yatsen Group in 2020 and has been promoting the construction of the factory.
The new factory is the latest facility to be operated after the Shanghai Plant 2, completed in 2017, and is an eco-friendly and smart factory that consolidates Cosmax's 30 years of ODM expertise. It is equipped with resource-saving facilities including solar power generation, as well as purification facilities that minimize water and air pollution. Additionally, automated processes and logistics systems have been applied.
The initial production plan is about 5 million units per month. According to the plan, production will be expanded to about 30 million units per month (approximately 400 million units annually). When producing 30 million units, the number of employees is expected to reach about 2,500.

Since additional production capacity will be available at the existing plants, Cosmax plans to actively discover new domestic brand companies seeking to enter the Chinese market.
Through this, Cosmax expects to expand its influence in the Chinese market and contribute to Korea-China economic exchanges.
