GamSeong Corporation, 'Snow Peak' Popularity... Achieves Earnings Surprise for Consecutive Quarters
Lifestyle outdoor company Gamseong Corporation (CEO Kim Ho-sun) announced its second-quarter business performance on the 11th through a public disclosure.
Gamseong Corporation's second-quarter sales reached 40.1 billion KRW, a 57% increase compared to the same period last year, continuing its growth trend. Operating profit was 7.7 billion KRW, up 128% year-on-year. Growth in the apparel sector was particularly notable in the second quarter. Thanks to the continued popularity of 'Snow Peak Apparel,' apparel sales increased by 64% to 35.7 billion KRW.
The total sales for the first half of the year were 71.2 billion KRW, and operating profit was 12.2 billion KRW, representing increases of 72% and 200% respectively compared to the previous year. In particular, operating profit achieved an earnings surprise that significantly exceeded market consensus, raising expectations for a substantial increase in sales and operating profit in the second half.
The company cited the success of various business strategies based on the popularity of 'Snow Peak Apparel' as the reason behind this strong performance.
Gamseong Corporation attracted high market popularity by launching differentiated products featuring trendy designs tailored to customer demands and eco-friendly materials. Additionally, to expand customer touchpoints, the company opened new one-stop complex stores, enlarged existing stores, and expanded women’s and kids’ lineups, thereby increasing sales per store.
Marketing strategies were also actively strengthened. The company enhanced brand awareness by releasing collaborative products with the global company ‘LINE FRIENDS’ and showcasing products through influencers in travel and activity sectors as well as entertainment programs. These business strategies elicited positive responses from customers and contributed to performance growth.
The overseas division also stood out. Since the first export to the Taiwan market in May, initial supply volumes sold out, leading to second and third supply rounds. The popularity in Taiwan is expected to further accelerate the entry of ‘Snow Peak Apparel’ into the Chinese market.
