‘Seino-ui Gareuchim’ Remains No.1... ‘American Prometheus’ Rapidly Rising
'The Teachings of Seino' maintained its position at the top of the Yes24 comprehensive bestseller list for the second week of August, securing the number one spot for three consecutive weeks. The second place was taken by the special edition of 'American Prometheus,' which inspired director Christopher Nolan's upcoming film 'Oppenheimer.' The science humanities book 'Science Study for Liberal Arts Men' by author Yoo Si-min ranked third, and the book addressing the crisis of concentration, 'Stolen Concentration,' rose one spot to fourth place.
'With Even a Very Faint Light,' the third collection of short stories in five years by author Choi Eun-young, achieved fifth place. In addition to Choi Eun-young's existing fandom, the introduction on the YouTube channel of illustrator Lee Yeon, who has 860,000 subscribers, seems to have had an impact. It ranked fourth overall at Kyobo Bookstore. The proportion of female readers purchasing the book was high at 77.3%, with women in their 30s accounting for 30.9% and women in their 20s accounting for 20.6%.
The essay 'It Can Be Like That' by singer Yang Hee-eun, published in early July, re-entered the top 10 this week after the author appeared on star lecturer Kim Mi-kyung's YouTube channel on the 3rd.
