According to Sejeong Group, the 'Automatic Vehicle Blocking System for Flood-Prone Underground Underpasses' developed by Sejeong I&C, a system software developer, is designed to automatically block access to underground underpasses when flooding occurs. The system detects flooding through water level sensors inside the underpass and, upon reaching a certain water level, blocks entry using vehicle barriers, LED message boards providing situation updates, and alarm broadcasts. It features management and control by dividing flood situations into two stages: caution and prohibition. Additionally, the system integrates and manages water level sensors, vehicle barriers, and LED message boards collectively, while providing monitoring for each device. Furthermore, it supports visual situation monitoring by displaying nearby CCTV footage and water level graphs within the system.
Sejeong I&C first installed the system in 2021 at the Choryang No.1 Underground Underpass in Dong-gu, Busan, becoming the first in the nation to do so, and has since been continuously implementing the automatic vehicle blocking system in flood-prone underground underpasses in Busan, Seoul, Okcheon, and other locations. This year, the system is planned to be installed in Gimhae and Goseong in Gyeongsangnam-do.
