MyData company Hecto Innovation’s card benefit management platform, TheSsen Card, released the interim results of the ‘2023 First Half TheSsen Card Settlement’ service. Launched on July 13, 2023, the service runs for about a month until the 13th and diagnoses whether users are receiving good benefits by comparing their individual usage amount, benefit amount, and benefit rate with the averages of the same age group, categorizing the results into five levels.
The TheSsen Card Settlement service has gained popularity with over 9,000 reviews and about 5,000 shares so far. Based on actual data from 400,000 TheSsen Card members, the results showed that people in their 40s received the highest card benefits, with an average benefit amount of 57,000 KRW and an average benefit rate of 1.8%. People in their 20s had the lowest average usage amount among all age groups, resulting in a benefit amount of only 18,000 KRW, but their benefit rate ranked second at 1.2%.
Those in their 30s and those aged 60 and above received benefits of 28,000 KRW and 19,000 KRW respectively, recording an average benefit rate of about 1%, following behind. People in their 50s received an average benefit amount of 21,000 KRW but had the lowest benefit rate at 0.9%. The benefit rate is an indicator of credit card benefits, calculated by dividing the average monthly benefit amount by the average monthly usage amount and then multiplying by 100.
The number of cards held and monthly usage amounts were also highest among people in their 30s and 40s. The average number of cards held by those in their 30s and 40s was 10, with average monthly usage amounts of 2.72 million KRW and 3.16 million KRW, respectively. Those in their 50s and 60s held an average of 9 and 8 cards, with average monthly usage amounts of 2.35 million KRW and 1.84 million KRW, respectively. People in their 20s held an average of 6 cards and spent 1.49 million KRW monthly on average.
Kim Min-jung, Executive Director of TheSsen Card, said, “Analysis of customer data visiting the TheSsen Card Settlement service so far shows that most receive card benefits in the 1% range, indicating a need for more precise management. We encourage users to carefully check their card benefit rates through various comparisons such as peers, users of the same card, and users with similar spending amounts, and to receive consumption diagnostics through the TheSsen Card Settlement service.”
