On the 9th, American Jamboree Scouts Visit Heo Jun Museum to Experience Traditional Korean Medicine
Over 100 American Jamboree Scouts who left early from the ‘2023 Saemangeum World Scout Jamboree’ visited the Heo Jun Museum in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, where they had a special time experiencing traditional Korean medicine.
On the 9th, the district announced that it hosted various museum experience programs for the Jamboree scouts at the Heo Jun Museum.
On that day, the scouts listened to explanations from Kim Kwe-jung, the director of the Heo Jun Museum, about Heo Jun, a representative medical scholar of Korea, and the Donguibogam, the most renowned Eastern medical text. They also had the opportunity to appreciate various traditional Korean medical books and artifacts, experiencing the unfamiliar world of Eastern medicine.
In particular, the scouts enjoyed trying on traditional costumes worn by royal physicians and female medical practitioners during the Joseon Dynasty, experiencing Korean culture and history firsthand.
The district, together with the Gangseo Police Station and others, dispatched safety and guide personnel on site to ensure that the scouts were comfortable in the unfamiliar environment.
