Visit to Bukhang Drainage Pump Station, Facility Inspection to Prepare for Operation Against Flooding
Mokpo City has taken proactive measures to prevent damage from Typhoon No. 6, 'Khanun.'
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 9th, Typhoon 'Khanun' is expected to pass closest to Mokpo City between the night of the 9th and the 10th, with forecasts of heavy rain of 100 to 200mm and strong winds.

View original imageOn the 9th, Mayor Park Hong-ryul of Mokpo conducted an on-site inspection of areas vulnerable to damage from heavy rain and strong winds in preparation for Typhoon 'Khanun.'
Mayor Park visited the Dongmyeong-dong wharf and the Bukhang Fisheries Cooperative Wholesale Market to check the evacuation status of fishing vessels and their mooring conditions. He also inspected the Bukhang drainage pumping station to verify the operational readiness of the facilities in preparation for flooding.
Mayor Park Hong-ryul urged, "Please ensure perfect preparedness to prevent property and human damage caused by the typhoon," and added, "During the two days when we are under the influence of Khanun, all public officials, including those in charge of related departments, will remain vigilant and thoroughly prepare."

Meanwhile, Mokpo City held a situation assessment meeting on the 8th in preparation for Typhoon No. 6 'Khanun.'
