All 5 City Bus Passengers Sustain Minor Injuries
Three Swiss Participants Also Transported to Hospital
A bus carrying participants of the ‘2023 World Scout Jamboree’ in Suncheon, Jeollanam-do, collided with a city bus, resulting in nine people sustaining minor injuries.
According to the Jamboree Organizing Committee on the 9th, the collision between the two buses occurred in front of the Suncheon Youth Training Center located in Suncheon, Jeollanam-do, in the afternoon.
It was confirmed that three foreign nationals on the Jamboree participant bus and one Korean driver sustained minor injuries. Additionally, all passengers on the city bus involved in the collision, including four citizens and one driver, were also reported to have minor injuries.
The Jamboree bus was carrying 36 members of the Swiss delegation participating in the event, one chaperone, and one driver, totaling 38 people.
An official from the organizing committee stated, "Three Swiss Jamboree participants and one Korean driver have arrived at the nearby St. Carollo Hospital and are receiving treatment," adding, "Five people with minor injuries, including the city bus driver, are being treated at Suncheon Korean Hospital."

Due to the impact of Typhoon ‘Khanun,’ the Jamboree, which was underway in Saemangeum, Buan-gun, Jeollabuk-do, changed accommodations and activity locations across eight cities and provinces nationwide the previous day. However, it was announced that no accommodations were assigned in Jeollanam-do. Regarding this, Lee Sang-min, Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, said in a briefing that afternoon, "We will check and inform you why these individuals went to Suncheon."
