Special Response Team and Rescue Units Deployed for Rescue Operations
A collapse accident occurred at a new neighborhood living facility construction site in Oksan-dong, Anseong-si, Gyeonggi Province, burying two people, one of whom was found in a state of cardiac arrest.
According to the fire authorities on the 9th, at around 11:49 a.m. that day, the floor slab between the 8th and 9th floors of a building with 2 basement floors and 9 above-ground floors collapsed.
As a result of the accident, one person was found in cardiac arrest and was transported to a nearby hospital. The fire authorities are conducting additional rescue operations, and five people were injured and received emergency treatment at a temporary emergency medical center.
Immediately after the accident, the fire authorities issued Response Level 1, and then upgraded the response to Level 2 at 12:01 p.m. They have deployed 52 personnel to the site, including four rescue teams such as the Special Response Team. Anseong City provided support with excavators and cranes.
Meanwhile, the police are controlling the site and preparing for additional accidents. The fire authorities plan to investigate the specific cause of the accident once the recovery is completed.

The building where the accident occurred has a total floor area of approximately 14,000 square meters. Construction began in February and is scheduled to be completed by May next year.
