DGIST, Recruiting Trainees for Expert Education in the 1 Trillion KRW Domestic Fragrance Industry

DGIST (President Kook Yang) is recruiting 30 trainees for the ‘Fragrance Industry Expert Training Course’ until the 14th.
This program, conducted as part of the ‘Daegu Nam-gu Total Beauty Manufacturing and Service Professional Workforce Training and Youth Startup Activation Project,’ aims to cultivate total beauty industry professionals suitable for the industrial structure of the Daegu region and to promote youth entrepreneurship, thereby revitalizing the local industry and enhancing population vitality.
The training course is benchmarked against the ‘Fragrance Industry Professional Training Course’ held in France, a global center of the fragrance industry, and consists of fragrance marketing, basic chemistry courses related to fragrance materials, and basic neuroscience courses related to olfaction. For specialized education, Professor J?r?mie Topin, head of the Flavor & Fragrance training program at Universit? de Nice Sophia-Antipolis in Nice, France, and Dr. J?r?me Golebiowski, a fragrance industry expert from France, are scheduled to visit Korea and participate directly in the training.

Moon Jae-il, director of the DGIST Olfactory Convergence Research Center, stated, “The ‘fragrance industry,’ expected to grow into a market exceeding 1 trillion won by 2025, is evolving into a future industry that expands into new areas by integrating the traditional cosmetics industry with the digital industry,” adding, “This is a great opportunity to contribute to regional economic development and industrial structural innovation through nurturing outstanding talent in the global fragrance industry field and to promote Daegu internationally.”
