Guri-si, Comprehensive Gyeonggi-do Audit from the 10th... Until the 27th of Next Month
Gyeonggi Province will conduct a comprehensive audit of Guri City from the 10th of this month until the 27th of next month.
According to the newly established audit innovation plan in May this year, Gyeonggi Province has decided not to request audit materials related to autonomous administrative affairs from cities and counties during the comprehensive audit of Guri City.
The audit will focus on delegated tasks funded by the national or Gyeonggi Province budgets or mandated by laws and regulations, and autonomous administrative affairs will only be audited if there is suspicion of illegality based on reports or media coverage.
During the prior four-week preliminary investigation period, Gyeonggi Province will review compliance with legality audit procedures, and from the start to the conclusion of the audit, an objective verification system involving external experts such as citizen auditors will be used to check for any infringement of autonomy.
Additionally, to ensure that the audit leads to tangible improvements in residents' lives, various channels will be open for receiving reports. Informants will be treated anonymously.
Reports can be submitted non-face-to-face via the Audit General Affairs Officer (gg0005@gg.go.kr), the Public Interest Reporting Hotline (hotline.gg.go.kr), telephone, and fax until the 14th of next month.
They can also be submitted in person by visiting the comprehensive audit office within Guri City Hall from the 29th of this month to the 6th of next month.
The subjects of reports include various inconveniences experienced by residents, illegal or improper acts by public officials, corruption by public officials, fraudulent claims on public finances, and illegal operations. However, matters involved in investigations or trials, issues that may infringe on private rights or privacy, and matters already audited or under audit by other agencies are excluded.
Gyeonggi Province also plans to reduce penalties or show leniency to public officials of the audited institution who voluntarily report their own faults during the audit period as much as possible.
