Asiana Pilot Union Concludes Wage and Labor Agreement... Four Years of Wages Decided
Provisional Agreement Passed... Approval Rate 82.2%
The Asiana Airlines pilots' union passed a tentative agreement, concluding last year's wage and labor negotiations.
The Asiana Airlines pilots' union announced that the tentative agreement on last year's wage and labor negotiations was approved with 82.2% of union members voting in favor. Out of 1,127 members, 998 participated (an 88.6% turnout), with 820 voting in favor and 178 against.
The management and union failed to narrow their differences over the wage increase rate. As a result, since June, the pilots' union has been conducting lawful protests. Ultimately, both sides reached a tentative agreement to freeze wages from 2019 to 2021, and to increase last year's base salary and flight allowances by 2.5% each.
