KT&G Publishes 'Integrated Report' Showcasing Sustainability Management Achievements
Integrating ESG Values into Future Growth Strategy
Focusing Capabilities on Strengthening Execution at the Group Level
KT&G announced on the 7th that it has published the '2022 KT&G Integrated Report,' which contains its sustainable management strategies and activity achievements.
KT&G revealed its commitment to strengthening ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) execution at the group level through the '2030 KT&G Group Sustainable Management Goals,' which encompass the group company's businesses. Considering feasibility and industry characteristics, it redefined key performance indicators (KPIs) and expanded the scope to all group companies for targets such as greenhouse gas reduction rate, renewable energy usage ratio, acquisition of global waste management certifications, and human rights impact assessment execution rate.
It also disclosed the process of the newly introduced double materiality assessment and the results of key issue selection. The double materiality assessment is a methodology that derives core issues by analyzing bidirectionally both the impact a company has on the environment and society and the financial impact external factors have on the company.
The report also specifically includes performance in major ESG areas. Despite increased production at domestic and overseas business sites, KT&G reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 7.5% over two years and aims to expand renewable energy usage by more than 18% this year through rooftop solar power generation at business sites.
