Weekend Winner is 'Milsu'... 930,000 Viewers Rank 1, Approaching Break-Even Point

Korean Movie 'Bigongshik Jakjeon' Ranks 2nd, 'The Moon' 4th
The movie 'Milsu' maintained its top position at the weekend box office in its second week of release. It is expected to surpass the break-even point within this week.
According to the Korea Film Council's integrated ticketing system on the 7th, 'Milsu' (directed by Ryu Seung-wan) attracted 937,637 viewers over the weekend (April 4-6), securing the number one spot at the box office. Since its release on March 26, the cumulative audience has reached 3,535,583.
'Milsu' is a maritime crime action film about people who make a living by salvaging daily necessities thrown into the sea, who get caught up in a life-changing big deal. Directed by Ryu Seung-wan, it stars Kim Hye-soo, Yum Jung-ah, Jo In-sung, and Park Jung-min. Since its release, the film has not relinquished its box office lead and is approaching the break-even point (4 million viewers).
Two major Korean films released simultaneously on the 2nd started at 2nd and 4th place respectively during their first weekend.
'Unofficial Operation' (directed by Kim Sung-hoon), starring Ha Jung-woo and Ju Ji-hoon, drew 440,360 viewers over the weekend, ranking second at the box office. Its cumulative audience reached 700,145.
'The Moon' (directed by Kim Yong-hwa), a Korean-style sci-fi film starring Sol Kyung-gu and Do Kyung-soo, attracted 184,824 viewers, placing fourth. It recorded a disappointing cumulative audience of 360,944 in its first week.
In third place was Disney·Pixar's animation 'Elemental', which drew 291,825 viewers. Its cumulative audience stands at 6,313,807.
Tom Cruise's 'Mission: Impossible ? Dead Reckoning Part One' attracted 134,344 viewers, ranking fifth. Since its release on the 12th of last month, it has accumulated 3,847,330 viewers.
Sixth place went to 'Monster Family 2', seventh to 'Detective Conan: Black Iron Submarine', and eighth to 'Barbie'.
