Choi Juwon, Chief of the Gyeongbuk Provincial Police Agency, conducted special security activities on the afternoon of the 6th by visiting Pohang Yeongildae Beach and the surrounding entertainment district, where crowds gather during the summer season along the East Coast.
On that day, Chief Choi carried out joint powerful patrols with the autonomous crime prevention team, police mobile unit, and police special forces, covering the area from the crowded Yeongildae Beach to the nearby entertainment district, aiming to preemptively suppress the crime atmosphere.

Earlier, since the 4th, the Gyeongbuk police have been conducting special security activities by concentrating all police resources and civilian assets for proactive and comprehensive responses to prevent heinous and copycat crimes.
During this period, the police special forces and police mobile units have been deployed forward to heavily patrol crowded places such as shopping malls, subway stations, and beaches, while intensively monitoring threatening posts such as internet murder threats to promptly apprehend the authors and impose the strictest possible punishment allowed by law.
So far, the Gyeongbuk police have mobilized about 1,300 personnel including police special forces, police mobile units, and cooperative organizations, focusing patrols on areas expected to attract crowds such as Gyeongju Bomun Complex, Gumi Station, Pohang Lotte Department Store, and Gyeongsan University Street.
