Jungnang-gu 78th Liberation Day Concert Held
August 15th Commemorative Concert to Be Held at Mangwoo History and Culture Park Outdoor Space in Jungnang at 6 PM on the 11th
Varied Attractions Including Taekwondo Dance, Fusion Gugak, and Popular Singers' Performances... Free for Everyone
On the 11th, a concert commemorating the 78th anniversary of Liberation Day will be held at Mangwoo History and Culture Park in Jungnang-gu.
The Mangwoo History and Culture Park, where the concert will take place, is the resting place of many historical figures representing Korea’s modern and contemporary history. The concert is organized to honor the noble spirit and sacrifice of the patriotic martyrs and to widely promote the historical and cultural significance of the park.
The Liberation Day concert will be held outdoors at the Jungnang Mangwoo Space within Mangwoo History and Culture Park from 6 PM for about two hours. The concert is free to attend without prior registration, and will feature a Liberation commemorative Taekwondo performance, fusion gugak, and live performances by popular singers.
The performance will open with the Taekwondo dance by Mirme Taekwondo. By reenacting the moment of liberation through Taekwondo, Korea’s national martial art, it is expected to be a time to reflect on history and remember the noble sacrifice of the patriotic martyrs. Next, the electric samulnori band Numori will present fusion gugak that blends popular music and traditional Korean music, energizing the audience. The finale will be decorated by the group Jajeongeo Tan Punggyeong and singer Lee Sooyoung.
