KOSPI Ends Slightly Lower... Ecopro HN Rises
Net Selling Accompanied by Foreigners and Institutions
On the 4th, both the KOSPI and KOSDAQ closed slightly lower due to selling pressure from foreigners and institutions.
The KOSPI closed at 2602.80, down 0.10% (2.59 points) from the previous day. The KOSPI started at 2606.17, up 0.03%, but soon turned downward and traded around the 2605 level.
The reason the KOSPI index, which fluctuated between gains and losses, closed weak was due to supply and demand. In the futures market, only foreigners sold 406.5 billion KRW, while individuals and institutions bought 53.2 billion KRW and 432.4 billion KRW, respectively.
Looking at the top 10 stocks by market capitalization, most showed declines. POSCO Future M fell 1.64%, Samsung Biologics 1.36%, LG Chem 1.09%, and Samsung Electronics 0.73%. POSCO Holdings rose 0.34%, Hyundai Motor 0.26%, NAVER 0.22%, and SK Hynix 0.08%.
The KOSDAQ closed at 918.43, down 0.21% (1.89 points) from the previous day. It opened at 921.16, up 0.09% (0.84 points), but soon turned downward.
Similar to the KOSPI, the index declined due to combined selling by foreigners and institutions. Foreigners and institutions sold a net 93 billion KRW and 105.5 billion KRW, respectively. However, individuals alone bought 205.1 billion KRW.
